Toys

A la vuelta de las vacaciones de navidad todos los niños hablan de los juguetes nuevos que les han traído. Por eso es un buen momento para trabajar el vocabulario básico de juguetes en ingles.
A continuación tenéis la programación de la unidad didáctica "Toys" que hice en P3 pero que como siempre sabéis que se puede adaptar a cualquier curso.
TOPIC 4: TOYS 4 LESSONS (SECOND TERM) P3

LESSON 1

  • Sing the “hello Cheeky” song.
  • In the computer see different toys: car, doll, train, balloon, ball and make everybody repeat its name.
  • Draw in the blackboard toys and make the children guess what it is before you finish.
  • Ask them what they’ve got for christmas presents.
  • Draw on the blackboard and sing 3 brown teddies sitting on a wall.
  • Sing the “ bye bye “ song

MATERIAL: Cheeky Monkey Puppet, Hello song, Bye bye song, toys, toys flashcards.

LESSON 2

  • Sing the hello song.
  • Listen to the story what a mess with the story cards:

What a mess!!!



Look at Tim and Molly’s bedroom


  • Toy cars everywhere

  • Dolls on the bed

  • Helicopters hanging on the pictures

  • Trains on the floor

  • Planes, planes, planes




Oh! What a mess!!!



Mummy opens the door


  • “Oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” – she screams

  • Come on, tidy your bedroom quickly




Children’s legs are trembling


Mummy: put the car in the box

Tim and Molly: Yes, mummy

Mummy: Put the dolls in the box

Tim and Molly: Yes, mummy

Mummy: Put the dolls in the doll box

Tim and Molly: Yes, mummy

Mummy: Put the helicopter in the helicopter box

Tim and Molly: Yes, mummy

Mummy: Oh, that’s very tidy. A lollipop for you and another for you!

Tom and Molly: Thank you mum

Tom and Molly: It’s delicious!
Put the toys around the class and say a toy. Children have to go where it is making the noise of this toy

  • Put all the toys in a row on a table and make a child go out of the class and take out one toy. Make the child come back and say which toy is missing.
  • Sing the Bye bye song.

LESSON 3
  • Sing the hello song.
  • Revise vocabulary.
  • Listen to the story again and stop every item that is untidied and ask some children to tidy up an pick all the heard items in the class. Meanwhile, the rest of the class repeats the toy name
  • Sing the tidy up song (sung to London bridge is falling down tune) to the children and do it all together afterwards:
We are going to tidy up, tidy up, tidy up.
We are goint to tidy up everything.

  • Sing the goodbye song.
MATERIAL: Cheeky Monkey Puppet, Hello song, Bye bye song, story, toys.

LESSON 4

  • Sing the hello song.
  • Explain the story and sing tidy up song.
  • Play round and round the garden like a teddy bear.
  • Do the worksheet: My favourite toy
  • Sing the goodbye song.
  • MATERIAL: Cheeky Monkey Puppet, Hello song, Bye bye song, story, favourite toy worksheet.
